I'm Zofija, a proud 27-year-old transgender woman and the founder of BOHEMA HAIR. I work as a hairstylist and colour expert, currently based in London, Soho, but originally from a small town in Lithuania. In the past, while living in Lithuania, I worked as a makeup artist, educator, and ambassador for renowned makeup brands, including NYX Cosmetics and others.
My journey into hairdressing began 6 years ago, coinciding with my male-to-female transition. It was during this time that I came to realize the immense significance hair holds in terms of self-expression and self-enjoyment.
For quite a while, I felt trapped, as if my outward appearance didn't align with my inner self. Embarking on my transition, undergoing hormone replacement therapy, and growing my hair to a certain length became a therapeutic process. Styling and caring for my hair allowed me to authentically present myself and show up as I am.
Hair has played an integral role in my self-acceptance journey,
whether gazing into the mirror or meeting new people – at work place or on a date with my lover. I'm certain you understand the power of feeling fresh, clean, and confident in your hair; it opens doors and empowers you.
So creating BOHEMA HAIR, defining its identity and principles, has been life-altering. It fills me with immense joy to announce that BOHEMA HAIR, which I affectionately call ‘my baby,’ is dedicated to helping you embrace the beauty and pride in being different. We are all wonderfully unique, colorful, and irreplaceable. Everyone deserves the same love, support, and respect that we often extend to others.
BOHEMA HAIR is about reconnecting with yourself and offering gratitude to the inner child who carried you through hardships. It's a haven for finding tranquility in our fast-paced lives and rediscovering connections with both ourselves and those around us.
